About
I am not a professional food-maker. My prior culinary education consists of watching the Food Network and (::cringe::) lots of baking with boxed cake mix. In October 2010, I decided to take up baking, legit-style. This involved selling my soul to Wilton, buying out the cake decorating supply section at the local Michael's, and, of course, purchasing a copy of Rose Levy Beranbaum's The Cake Bible. The blogging started as a record of how the recipes worked out and what tweaks were necessary (modifications to bake time, trials with different bakeware, etc.), but eventually evolved into a full-on project to recreate every recipe in the book, complete with photo documentation.
